Ribs and Barbeque Sauce

Ingredients:

-2 slabs of ribs
-Dash of salt
-1 onion (optional)

Place ribs in large saucepan. Add water to cover. Dash salt and one onion. Simmer until tender about one hour. Drain ribs. Place in shallow baking pan. Pour sauce over ribs. Bake in 350 degree oven half hour, basting with sauce.

BARBEQUE SAUCE:
-1 tbsp. butter
-1 clove garlic, minced
-1/2 c. catsup
-1/3 c. chili sauce
-2 tbsp. chopped onion
-1 tbsp. prepared mustard
-1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
-1/4 tsp. salt
-Dash bottled hot pepper sauce
-3 thin lemon slices.

In small saucepan, melt butter. Add garlic and saute 2 to 3 minutes. Add all other ingredients and simmer about 15 to 20 minutes.

Spare Ribs with Honey Barbecue Sauce

-3 lb. lean spare ribs

Cut spare ribs into serving pieces. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and garlic powder. Place in a shallow baking pan. Roast at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Brush ribs with honey barbecue sauce. Continue to bake and baste ribs until they are tender and beautifully glazed, about 1 hour more.

HONEY BARBECUE SAUCE:
-2 cloves garlic, crushed
-1 c. honey
-1/4 c. butter (1/2 stick)
-1/2 c. ketchup
-1 tbsp. vinegar
-2 tsp. Dijon style mustard
-1 tbsp. soy sauce
-3 tbsp. brown sugar

Combine all ingredients in saucepan and simmer for 5 minutes. Store leftover sauce in the refrigerator. Makes approximately 1 1/2 cups of sauce.

Goes great on chicken also!

Sauce for Spare Ribs

Ingredients:

-1 1/2 c. brown sugar
-2 c. water
-3 c. catsup
-2 c. barbecue sauce
-1 tbsp. mustard

Bring to a boil, pour over spare ribs. Cover and bake at 250 degrees for 2 hours. Very tender when served. This is for 10 pounds of ribs. Can be adjusted for more.
